In college, Jenny majored in Music and minored in Chemistry while working three jobs to pay her own way through school. She graduated summa cum laude and was named Outstanding Graduate in Music. Jenny earned numerous scholarships and awards, made the Dean's List, was Jazz Club President, and recorded a CD entitled “Tight”. She played with numerous small jazz ensembles, jazz vocal ensembles, chamber groups, and accompanied other artists. (Yes, Jenny has performed with famous musicians, too) Each week she performed at different venues from restaurants, weddings, wine tastings, etc., from Bakersfield to Los Angeles, and music festivals in the Bay Area. She also volunteered her time performing at the Alzheimer’s Center.
For ten years, Jenny coached and taught music, including vocalists, instrumentalists, and a jazz choir. In addition, she designed workshops incorporating vocalization and yoga body movement entitled, “Freeing Your Natural Voice”. In Los Angeles, Jenny was the staff accompanist for a five-choir high school program where she coached singers and taught jazz. She also led music classes at the Downtown Women’s Center, an experience that motivated her to become a lawyer.
